South Africa’s leading women-led music and arts festival, Galpalooza, returns for its highly anticipated third edition this Women’s Day weekend, taking place on 8 and 9 August 2025.
This two-day celebration will once again honour and uplift women across South Africa’s music and creative industries.
Set against the lush, scenic backdrop of Otterlake German Restaurant in Roodeplaat, Pretoria, the event promises a weekend filled with empowering performances, immersive art, and a sense of community that reflects the heart of the local creative scene.
What to Expect at Galpalooza 2025
Festival goers can look forward to an exciting mix of live performances by female-fronted bands and artists and DJ sets to keep the dance floor going well into the night.
There will also be art exhibitions and creative installations, market stalls showcasing local talent and handmade goods and family-friendly activities throughout the day.
This year also introduces a free Sunday session, allowing one final opportunity to soak up the Galpalooza magic before the weekend winds down.
Music Schedule & Camping Info
- Friday, 8 August: Live music kicks off at 5 PM.
- Saturday, 9 August: Festivities begin at 12 Noon.
- DJ sets will run into the night both evenings
For those looking for the full experience, General Admission tickets include access to both days plus free riverside camping, offering a true festival escape under the stars.

- Kids (12–18) – R50 (Both days)

Festival goers can enjoy a fully stocked bar and delicious meals from the Otterlake kitchen. No cooler boxes are allowed in the main festival area, but designated braai spots are available. Breakfast is served daily from 10 AM and late kitchen hours will be observed for evening snacks.
Camping amenities include Hot showers and clean bathrooms and swimming pool access. Please note that no fires are allowed in the camping zone and that there are no electricity points at campsites.
