The Tomorrowland 2011 After Movie has been released and it looks amazing! I wish I could go there one day (even though I’m not a huge fan of electronic music).
We have our fair share of music festivals in South Africa, but I don’t think that South Africans realize how big festivals can get abroad.
To give you an idea, every year more than 180,000 people flock to Pukkelpop in Belgium, more than 175,000 flock to Glastonbury in the UK and more than 100,000 people flock to Bonnaroo in the United States. The music festival junkie in me is urging me to attend one of these festivals one day…
Well, Tomorrowland (not to be confused with the Disney Theme Park of the same name) might be dancy (and most of my regular readers know that I’m not a huge fan of electronic music), but it still looks like an awesome festival. For those of you who did not know, Tomorrowland is Belgian outdoor dancing event / festival organised every year in the Flemish town of Boom (since 2005).
Since it’s creation Tomorrowland’s attendance has grown 8 fold, from 15,000 to 120,000 last year. The festival offers 10 different stages and tents with DJs from all walks of electronic music.
Tomorrow 2011 was the 7th edition of the festival and was held between July 22nd and 24th this year. Tomorrowland 2011 featured Afrojack, Above & Beyond, Carl Cox, De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig, Fedde le Grand, Ferry Corsten, Sander van Doorn, Swedish House Mafia, Cosmic Gate, Avicii, Faithless, Tiësto, Laidback Luke, David Guetta and others.
The organizers have released the Tomorrowland 2011 After Movie:
It’s 34 minutes long, but definitely worth watching, check it out below…
In my opinion, Tomorrowland looks absolutely awesome. I could totally make my way to a festival like this (even though it focuses on electronic music). The vibe looks and sounds awesome. Maybe I should save up those bucks and make my way over there sometime.
