Remember Qkumba Zoo? They first emerged from the dusty vibrance of South Africa with the song the “Child (Inside)” in 1996.
The 1996 Arista release of “The Child (Inside)” featured several mixes by DJ Junior Vasquez that became the standard for the song in American clubs. Vasquez followed up with several mixes of “Cloud Eyes (I’m Scared You’re Scared)”. In recent years, the original mix of “The Child (Inside)” has been used in several US television commercials.
“The Child (Inside)” went on to become a number 1 hit on the US dance charts, an epic, global, night club anthem, and later in the early 21st Century, was known as the “Sea World song” when Sea World, Florida, used it in their shows.
Qkumba Zoo is pleased to announce the release of a new song titled “Unicorns”
This track fulfills their dream-pop, Bjork-meets-Africa, rhythmic sound they are known for. Fans of the original Qkumba music will feel an immediate connection between “Unicorns” and “the Child (Inside)” as they update their signature sound for the future.
The Defected Sounds of London completed the remix and both tracks can be heard on Spotify, iTunes and Deezer. I have to admit that this is my normal cup of tea, but it’s great to hear a new track from them. For more information, check out their official website.
