Post Malone has released his first country album, F-1 Trillion, now available through Mercury Records and REPUBLIC, in partnership with Big Loud.
The album features an impressive lineup of collaborators from the country music world. It includes performances by established icons like Dolly Parton, Hank Williams Jr., and Tim McGraw, as well as rising stars such as Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, and Chris Stapleton, among others.
This new project represents a significant shift in Post Malone’s musical direction, showcasing his versatility as an artist by venturing into the country genre.
Prior to the album’s release, Post Malone introduced several successful singles, with “Guy For That” featuring Luke Combs being the most recent. This track has gained significant popularity, amassing over 27 million streams on Spotify and receiving positive reviews from critics.
Rolling Stone highlighted the collaboration, noting how Post Malone followed up his previous country hit with another strong country track, this time featuring Luke Combs.
The New York Times praised the album’s diversity, mentioning its mix of classic country tributes and 90s-style power country.
They also noted the inclusion of outlaw storytelling elements in collaboration with rising bluegrass star Billy Strings. The review highlighted the album’s closing track, describing it as a heartfelt ballad where Post Malone envisions his young daughter’s future wedding.
Post Malone’s collaboration with Morgan Wallen, “I Had Some Help,” continues to be a major success. The song debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, achieving the highest weekly sales and streaming numbers since 2020. This marked Post Malone’s sixth number-one hit and Wallen’s second.
The track has maintained its number one position on the Hot 100 for five weeks in a row, making it the longest-running chart-topper of 2024 so far. It also set a record by debuting at number one on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Hot Country Songs charts simultaneously, and holding these positions for three consecutive weeks.
“I Had Some Help” has also reached the top of the Billboard Global 200 chart. Its popularity is further evidenced by surpassing 1 billion streams across various platforms.
This exceptional performance on multiple charts underscores the song’s wide appeal and the successful crossover between Post Malone’s fan base and the country music audience.
“I Had Some Help” was released shortly after Post Malone and Morgan Wallen delivered memorable performances at the 2024 Stagecoach Festival in Indio, CA.
On Saturday, Post Malone made his Stagecoach debut with a set of country covers, featuring surprise appearances from Brad Paisley, Sara Evans, and Dwight Yoakam. The following day, Post returned to the stage alongside Wallen for the first live performance of “I Had Some Help” before a sold-out crowd.
