Johannesburg based stoner fuzz rock trio Pollinator have released a Western themed video for their new single “Missing the Past”. Taken from their second full length album Fruit which was released in September 2017. The video was filmed in one day by Gavin Pincus at Duikerveld Farm in Heidelberg.
Bassist / Vocalist Louise Eksteen comments on the track: “Missing the Past is a song that dives into the theme of nostalgia. The lyrics highlight the sentimentality of fond memories and how the present can pale in comparison.”
Drummer / Vocalist Tim Edwards adds: “In typical Pollinator style, the song is over before you know it much like life itself. Gavin messed around with refractions and reflections to intensify certain parts of the video. And hammed them up hard.”

Here’s what I think of Pollinator‘s “Missing The Past”
“Missing The Past” is definitely one of my favorite tracks on Fruit. From the get-go the song just blows me away. It obliterates everything its path until it slows down. It’s a pity that it’s a bit short though.
The music video is a work of art and one of the coolest SA music videos that have been released in 2018 (in my books). It’s bloody well shot and it definitely compliments the song.
