Bridges for Music and ULTRA South Africa delivered an unforgettable evening for the annual Bridges for Music Gala Dinner in collaboration with Ultra South Africa.
The event was held at one of Cape Town’s iconic venues, the LOOKOUT at the V&A Waterfront. Hosted by Maps Maponyane, the evening was a true reflection on how the continued support for the foundation has positively transformed over 200 under-served students every year.
The event was graced by luminaries such as Grammy award winner Skrillex and local stars, including Msaki, Shimza, Sir Vincent, DJ Loyd. Together, they formed a constellation of music industry, Cape Town City and influencers, united in their commitment to nurturing the next generation of artists.
After the glitz and glam of the red carpet, guests were guided into an unexpected meditative journey that aligned the guests to be in the moment and connected the room. This was led by Fundi Mbambani a graduate of the academy who now successfully coordinates the first-of-its-kind, after-school programme.
This plays an imperative role in the development of a younger demographic, which is vital to aid and positively contribute to their future. Guests were astounded and reminded of the South African promise, to build a more inclusive and prosperous future for not only today but for generations.
Sub Council Angus Mckenzie who came to represent the City of Cape Town mayor’s office, delivered a truly captivating speech that had the room’s full attention
