Great news! Legendary SA rockers Wonderboom have released their brand new single and the music video for ‘Ooh La La’. This song brings the classic rock sound to life that fans have come to love about Wonderboom. Hitting hard from the intro with Martin Rocka’s powerful guitar riffs followed by Cito’s cool frontman vocal delivery, the 4-piece band keeps rock & roll alive and well, challenging the clean pop sounds of the current mainstream music landscape.
According to Cito (the frontman of Wonderboom): “Ooh La La’ was an extremely fun video to shoot. It took some acting, some miming, some tomfoolery and serious imagination. We’ve really found a beautiful visual relationship with Roger Williams, that we haven’t had in a long time. He just totally gets our music, our personalities and our vision. So many times we take ourselves too seriously and then totally miss the boat, being ‘cool rockstars’. ‘Ooh La La’ is us in touch with our childish selves,”
In case you did not know. Wonderboom has been around for the last 21 years and they are one of South Africa’s longest-standing rock bands. They boast an impressive catalogue of songs which include the hits ‘Never Ever’, ‘Something Wrong’, ‘Jafta Rebel’, along with their legendary rendition of èVoid’s hit ‘Shadows’. I’ve watched them perform numerous times over the years and I’ve never been disappointed by their live performances. So, if you haven’t seen these blokes live, you really need to make a plan.
‘Ooh La La’ follows 2016’s ‘Great Escape’ as the second track from Wonderboom’s forthcoming and 9th studio album due for release in April through the Gallo Record Company. The song is available for streaming on Apple Music and digital download from iTunes here: https://itun.es/za/x0Sthb
