Emerging singer/songwriter, Minke Brits has released her new single “Who Knows” in partnership with independent record label Paradise Sound System. Minke was the winner of the Paradise Women’s Month Competition.
This competition was an initiative created by Paradise Sound System – an independent record label with a focus on building bridges between Africa and the rest of the world for African talent. The competition was judged by Paradise Sound System’s international A&R executives based in the USA and Germany ensuring the winner is of international quality.
“Who Knows” is a folk release with a fresh, organic sound, written and composed by Minke herself, and produced by Helmut Meijer from Stonebear & Mayor Records at B-Studios in Pretoria. Minke was inspired by her desire to write a feel-good song perfect for a long drive that is about her and her friends going on a road-trip, and breaking away from their daily lives to have some unplanned fun!
After the tough year in 2020, Minke is now starting to think that “Who Knows” is more about our wonder, in these uncertain times, about what will happen next. She releases this single in hopes that when people listen to the song will uplift their spirit with its folky, funky vibe and make them think about the good times when going away on holiday and the importance of being together with people we love.
Minke fans can also look forward to the Locnville remix of “Who Knows” which will feature the epic electronic sounds of South Africa’s favourite twin hitmakers.
