    Breakout Events is thrilled to announce that Let’s Rock, the UK’s iconic retro festival, will make its South African debut in 2025!

    Known for its star-studded lineups and vibrant 80s nostalgia, Let’s Rock will bring two unforgettable events to Johannesburg and Cape Town.

    Expect a mix of international legends and local stars, including Thompson Twins‘ Tom Bailey, Midge Ure, Steve Louw’s Big Sky, and many more!

    Let’s Rock Event Dates

    • Let’s Rock Johannesburg – Saturday, 15 February 2025 at Marks Park, Emmarentia
    • Let’s Rock Cape Town – Sunday, 16 February 2025 at Green Point A-Track

    Prepare for a full day of classic music, transporting you back to the best of the 80s and beyond! Since 2009, this festival has been a leader in retro festivals, celebrated for its fun, family-friendly atmosphere that offers something for everyone to enjoy.

    International Superstars

    Headlining both shows are 80s icons Thompson Twins‘ Tom Bailey and Midge Ure, bringing their timeless hits that defined a generation. These legendary artists are set to deliver the true essence of the retro experience, straight from the UK to South Africa’s stages!

    Thompson Twins‘ Tom Bailey

    After nearly three decades, Thompson Twins‘ vocalist Tom Bailey returns with a new band, performing classic hits like “Hold Me Now,” “Doctor Doctor,” and more. His all-female band includes Charlotte Raven (vocals, keyboards), Vicky Warwick (bass, vocals, keyboards), and Paulina Szczepaniak (electronic drums).

    Midge Ure

    Award-winning, platinum-selling artist Midge Ure brings decades of musical legacy to the stage. Known for his work with Thin Lizzy, Visage, and Ultravox, Midge is also co-writer and producer of the iconic Band Aid single “Do They Know It’s Christmas?”
