SA Dreampop duo, Kollege have released their debut single ‘A Love Song’ across all digital platforms today. With it comes a quirky music video which will steal the hearts of everyone who watches it.
Kollege, made up of members Campbell and Jordy, describe their debut single as “A sweet and harmonious lovers’ ballad for those out there who find contentment in indie-pop”. Campbell and Jordy were fortunate to work with their friends Dom and Jude from well-known SA Electro-pop outfit, Easy Freak, to accomplish this dreamy and creatively named delight. ‘A Love Song’ is a melodic, soul-soothing, head bopping, and charmingly captivating Pop song.
Kollege finally unveiled their debut single and Jordy is so excited about it
“You know when people say they feel humbled? We don’t. Kidding. We are humbled and also very stoked. It’s been a long time coming for all of us, even for our fans who are somehow our fans but haven’t heard a single one of our songs, but hey, Christmas came early.”
Jordy delves into the making of the video for “A Love Song” and how the concept came about
“Well, Campbell was new to Joburg and had to rely on me for a potential video location. Jordy said there’s no place on Mother Earth like Northcliff Hill. Matt Masson, the Cape Townian mastermind behind the camera for the video, said, ‘then let’s go to Northcliff Hill.’”
“The synergy of the trio – Cam, me and Matt – meant that a video concept hardly needed to be discussed. Matt just turned on his camera, and Cam and I just did whatever we wanted, roaming freely atop Northcliff Hill. We think people see the real us in this video. The kind of guys you feel like you could be friends with if you knew each other in real life. We hope the video makes you feel like you could be friends with us, because we want to be friends with you. Enjoy xoxo”
