Country music sensation Kip Moore is set to make a triumphant return to Pretoria. Following his electrifying performance at a sold-out Loftus in 2023, Moore has recently announced plans for another concert in the city.
Fans can mark their calendars for Saturday, October 19, 2024, when the beloved international artist will take the stage for a single night of entertainment. Those eager to secure their spots can now purchase tickets through iTickets for what promises to be another memorable show.
Kip Moore, known for chart-toppers such as “She’s Mine,” “Last Shot,” and “Heart’s Desire,” stands out as one of Nashville’s most sought-after talents. Reflecting on his previous performance at Loftus, Moore expressed that the decision to return to Pretoria – often called the Jacaranda City – was an easy one.
His enthusiasm for a repeat visit underscores the warm reception he received during his last concert in the South African capital.
Wimpie van der Sandt, who serves as the executive manager of Heroes Events and hosts the breakfast show on Bok Radio, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming concert.
He stated, “Bringing artists of Kip’s caliber to South Africa is an immense honor. It allows us to offer a taste of Nashville to audiences in Cape Town and Pretoria.” Van der Sandt’s comments highlight the significance of international acts performing in the country and the excitement surrounding Moore’s return
The news of Kip Moore’s upcoming concert was revealed at a special event held at Stoetbul, a popular venue in Pretoria. The gathering, which attracted various celebrities, served as the platform for this exciting announcement.
Meanwhile, Van der Sandt and his team are in the midst of organizing what is set to be one of the largest country music festivals outside of the United States, scheduled to take place in Cape Town. This upcoming festival, along with Moore’s concert, underscores South Africa’s growing significance in the international country music scene.
“The success we had with Kip Moore in South Africa last year proved that there is a vibrant and healthy Country Music scene here. People in the music industry were bit doubtful when we explored the market, but we proved the concept and it gave us confidence to build the biggest Country festival in the world outside the USA.” shares van der Sandt.
The Cape Town Country Fest is set to unfold on Saturday, October 26, and Sunday, October 27, against the stunning backdrop of Table Mountain at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town. This two-day event boasts an impressive lineup featuring both international and local country music stars.
Headlining acts include Kip Moore, Zac Brown Band, Darius Rucker, Brothers Osborne, Cam, James Johnston, Morgan Wade, and Craig Morgan.
Representing the South African country music scene are Ricus Nel, Riaan Benade, Demi-Lee Moore, Juan Boucher, Appel, Ruhan du Toit, Brendan Peyper, Ivan Roux, West and Cheree, and Roan Ash.
This diverse roster promises a rich blend of global and local country talent, making the festival a significant event on the international country music calendar.
The Pretoria concert will feature Kip Moore and Darius Rucker as the international headliners, with local artists Martin Bester, Ray Dylan, and Posduif adding a distinctly South African flavor to the lineup.
Van der Sandt expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We took a significant risk, and South Africa has surpassed our expectations so far.”
He also highlighted the close collaboration between his team, the international artists’ agents, and Gaines Sturdivant from Red Light Management, who serves alongside Van der Sandt as an executive consultant for the CTC series.
The events have been branded differently to reflect their locations: the Cape Town concerts are marketed as the Cape Town Country Fest, while the Pretoria show will be promoted under the Cape to Capital banner.
This distinction in naming emphasizes the geographical spread of the country music events across South Africa, from the coastal city of Cape Town to the capital city of Pretoria.
