Known for their modern and international sound that seamlessly blends Indie Rock with Alternative Pop, Kensington Road has consistently made waves in the music scene.
The band’s last two albums, Lumidor (2018) and Sex Devils Ocean (2021), both secured spots on the German Album Charts, reaching #28 and #13, respectively. With a dedicated fan base spanning Germany, the Netherlands, UK, Ireland, Australia, Canada, and the US, Kensington Road has become a powerhouse in the global music landscape.
Charlie is Alive promises to be a continuation of the band’s authentic and down-to-earth approach to music, tackling themes of life, love, loss, and friendship. In a world filled with uncertainty, Kensington Road strives to provide a positive perspective through their energetic performances and relatable songwriting.
The first glimpse into the upcoming album comes in the form of the single “Flowers in Japan”. A bittersweet ode to the glory of life and the beauty in the world during times of darkness, the song delves into themes of loss and coping. Inspired by the spring flower bloom in Japan, the track explores the cyclical nature of life and the enduring beauty that emerges each spring.
Kensington Road Lead vocalist Stefan Tomek explains the inspiration behind “Flowers in Japan”
“The song is a comforting piece of advice a friend might give you. No matter how desperate and lost you feel, realizing that life is a cycle with moments of perfect beauty can offer solace and a new perspective.”
