Berlin’s indie rock band Kensington Road is excited to announce their first-ever tour in South Africa this November and December in support of their latest album, Charlie is Alive.
Known for their dynamic fusion of indie rock and alternative pop, Kensington Road has captivated audiences around the globe—from Germany and the Netherlands to the UK, Ireland, Australia, Canada, and the US. Now, South African fans can look forward to experiencing the band live, thanks to STFD.
On this tour, fans can expect an intimate musical journey with Stefan Tomek (vocals, guitar) and Michael Pfrenger (keyboard) performing as a duo. This close-up format provides a unique opportunity for personal interaction, allowing the band to share the stories and emotions that fuel their latest songs.
Stefan Tomek (from Kensington Road) comments on the tour
“South Africa has almost become a second home to us. We were here for a longer period during the pandemic with our twin boys and fell in love with this beautiful country and its people. It has also inspired a lot of music and songs for the last two albums.”
“It has been a long dream of ours to bring Kensington Road and our music to South Africa, and we are very excited that this is happening now. We’re playing quite a lot of shows all over the country, and we can’t wait to sing and celebrate life together with everyone! Come on down, everybody—it will be a thing of beauty, promise!”
Fans across South Africa are in for an unforgettable experience as Kensington Road brings the same electrifying energy and passion that has cemented their place in Europe’s indie rock scene.
With stops in major cities and charming towns, this tour is a rare chance to see one of Germany’s most captivating indie bands up close.
