    More info about Hollow Coves

Hollow Coves embodies the indie-folk spirit of connection to beauty and community, offering a gentle reminder to look inward and embrace gratitude for the natural world. Based on the Gold Coast, Matt Carins and Ryan Henderson draw inspiration from their surroundings, crafting their own vision of paradise. Both are songwriters and vocalists, seamlessly trading lead roles to suit each song’s needs.

Their sincere vulnerability, paired with a message of living in the moment, has resonated deeply with their audience, guiding them through a shared journey of mutual understanding. For Hollow Coves and their fans, the dream isn’t success, but rather an acute awareness of life’s fragility.

Since their debut, their following has grown organically, with over half a billion streams globally and nearly a million followers across platforms. Their first EP, Wanderlust (2017), was filled with travel stories and reflections on landscapes, defining the group’s sound and purpose. Hollow Coves quickly gained recognition for creating indie-folk anthems celebrating the great outdoors.

The fan-favorite track “Coastline” became one of the top 20 most-used songs on Instagram Reels in Summer 2021 and earned Gold certification in both Canada and Australia.

In 2018, they headed to the English countryside in Devon to collaborate with producer Chris Bond (Ben Howard, Justin Nozuka, Xavier Rudd), leading to their 2019 debut album Moments.

The album’s acoustic, hand-crafted sound pulls listeners into a mellow, free-flowing journey, earning praise from outlets such as Billboard, PASTE, Clash, Sunday Times, and OnesToWatch. Hollow Coves has since toured worldwide with artists like Tom Walker, The Paper Kites, Passenger, and The Lumineers.

In 2021, the band self-produced their EP Blessings at home. “We wanted the album to be like a new age retreat, where people could pause, reset their minds, and focus on positivity,” says Ryan. The EP’s heartfelt storytelling struck a chord with listeners seeking hope and perspective during challenging times, resulting in an outpouring of gratitude and personal stories from fans.

Fueled by their audience’s energy, a grounded ocean-side lifestyle, and a sound that mirrors their philosophy, Hollow Coves continues to live by their recipe for a good life.

Their South African tour kicks off at the iconic Up The Creek festival, one of the country’s longest-running outdoor music events. The scenic Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens in Cape Town, with the majestic Table Mountain as a backdrop, will host the band’s inner-city performance. In Durban and Johannesburg, the tranquil Botanic Gardens and Marks Park in Emmarentia will create the ideal setting for the band’s soulful sound.
