Earlier in the week, Bryan Binneman (lead vocalist for South African metalcore band Facing the Gallows) explained his reasons for deciding to leave the band in an official video statement via the band’s social media platforms.
This comes after the bands recent 10 year anniversary and release of their third studio album Dead Mindset to widespread critical acclaim both locally and internationally. The UK’s Metal Hammer had the following to say when they gave the album a fantastic 7/10 review in March “Despite their penchant for bludgeoning, the band aren’t afraid to push the boundaries of their sound. Impressive stuff.”
Facing the Gallows are supporting American’s Fit For A King on the 29th of June (tonight) at Arcade Empire (in Pretoria) and the 30th of June at Sundowners (in Johannesburg). These will be Bryan Binneman’s last 2 shows so go and show your support and give him the goodbye he deserves!
Facing The Gallows will be looking for a new vocalist. The band will make an official statement and announce their plans after the Fit For A King Tour, so watch this space.
Watch Bryan Binneman’s statement below:
Facing the Gallows are well known for their high energy and explosive live performances from small club stages to large festival shows. They have played every major festival including Oppikoppi festival, RAMfest, Woodstock, Krank’d up festival, Thornfest, and Splashy Fen festival (to name a few).
Since forming, Facing the Gallows have opened for international acts such as August Burns Red, Every Time I Die, Darkest Hour, Our Last Night, The Ghost Inside, Affiance, Underoath, Asking Alexandria, Have Heart, Shipwreck, Unearth and Protest the Hero.
Let’s hope that Facing The Gallows finds a new lead singer soon so they can continue flying South Africa’s metalcore banner.
