Last weekend I made my way to Mieliepop 2024! It was the first time that I’ve gone back since 2018 and I had an absolute blast.

This edition of the festival (which is held at Tolderia Resort near Lothair in Mpumalanga province) had an amazing line-up.
The line-up featured Durban Rockers Black Math, Metal Giants Facing The Gallows, Punk Legends Fuzigish, Rap Royalty Jack Parow, Painted Flowers, Pedro Barbosa, PH Fat, SA Indie Legends Shortstraw, Rock Royalty The Black Cat Bones (featuring Gareth Wilson), The Klubs, The Russian Dolls, SA Garage Rock Kings The Tazers, Reggae Legends Tidal Waves and others.
Facing The Gallows made their way onto the stage on the Friday night at the festival and completely blew away the metal-hungry crowd.
The bassist hopped onto a rubber “boat” and he was jamming in it, while the crowd help him up high. I think the term “Legendary” comes to mind…
Just check the photo that I snapped below and you’ll see what I mean…
