Bittereinder have released a new music video for their song Solidariteit (which happens to be a personal favorite of mine).
These Pretoria boys burst onto the scene in late 2010 and have since then taken the bull by the horns in the SA Music scene. I have seen Bittereinder perform 4 times this year and every time I see them, it just seem that they are amping up their live act.
The first time was at RAMFest Johannesburg this year and the last time was at Arcade Empire in Pretoria. They had the 10,000+ strong crowd dancing their behinds off at Oppikoppi Unknown Brother this year.
Bittereinder released their debut album, ‘n Ware Verhaal in February this year. I consider this album to be one of the best Afrikaans albums released this year. Their unique brand of Afrikaans Rap (which doesn’t contain any swearwords) is definitely one of the reasons why they’ve gained so much fame over the last year.
Earlier in 2011 they played at Lowlands festival in the Netherlands. This festival attracts more than 55,000 visitors every year. This year’s line-up featured the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Flogging Molly, Skrillex, Skunk Anansie, The Kills, The Offspring, Young the Giant and a string other artists.
The music video for Solidariteit was shot and compiled by Bittereinder’s own Louis Minnaar. Most of the footage in this video was shot while Bittereinder were touring the Netherlands in August of this year.
This is the music video for “Solidariteit”:
This is a well shot and compiled music video in my humble opinion. Well Done Bittereinder! Keep up the good work! I’m looking forward to see what these boys get up to in 2012.
