“Birds and the Bees” is the new single from South African blues-infused rock storytellers The Amblers. The track is taken from their upcoming 3rd EP. The EP is set for release in early 2020.
As always drummer Jason Hinch provides a powerful framework for Justin Swart to deliver his ideas of music and lyrics to a listener.
Justin Swart comments on the inspiration behind “Birds and the Bees”
“We are excited to release Birds and the Bees. In an era where offence comes too easily. Where controversy, click bait and fake news are the order of the day. Who can you trust? Tough conversations build real relationships. Birds and the Bees is one of those tough conversations.”
In 2017 the band released The Dusting Man. South Africa’s Texx and the City called it “A blues rock EP that deserves your full attention”. Canada’s PureGrainAudio described it as “Carrying a sound that leans towards the heavier side of things, fans of gritty, distorted bluesy rock a la Jack White or The Raconteurs are def. going to lap up these Johannesburg natives’ tunes.”
The Amblers released Ratty Old Mo in 2018. The band released a video for the title track and they had no less than 3 singles charting on South African radio. I don’t know about you guys and girls, but I’m excited to see what 2020 has in store for The Amblers.
