South African Pop singer-songwriter Andre Graham released his latest single, ‘Bestfriend,’ on the 8th of August 2024.
The track, co-written and produced by renowned South African producer Luke Goliath, delves into the complexities of relationships, exploring the tension that can arise when one suspects a partner’s best friend has ulterior motives.

“This song represents a situation that I think quite a few people in relationships find themselves in. When your partner has a best friend that you believe has ulterior motives.”
“You feel that your partner is not being truly honest with you. You desperately want to hold onto your relationship, but you have this sinking feeling that there is something going on behind your back.”
“Bestfriend” follows the success of Graham’s previous hit, “Around The World” (which was released in December 2023). The single garnered substantial radio play across South Africa on major stations like 5FM, 947, and Algoa FM, reaching number 1 on both 5FM and KC107.7 charts, charting in the Top 10 on Algoa FM’s chart, and establishing Graham as a prominent figure in the South African music scene.
Inspired by a diverse range of artists such as Drake, Justin Bieber, Billie Eilish, The Neighbourhood, and Sleeping With Sirens, Graham has cultivated a unique sound that seamlessly blends pop, hip-hop, and alternative influences. His music, marked by soft pop vocals and emotionally charged, melodic storytelling, draws comparisons to artists like Trevor Daniel, Iann Dior, and Blackbear.

Graham’s musical journey began in 2018, sharing his creations on platforms like SoundCloud. His early tracks delved into the emotional peaks and valleys of young love, using music as his form of expression. Since the release of his debut single “Lie To Me” in 2020, Graham has not only established himself as a noteworthy artist but has also earned acclaim for his songwriting talent.
Beyond his solo work, Graham has collaborated with some of South Africa’s leading music talents, including Lloyiso, Shekhinah, Mikhalé Jones, and Paxton. His international collaborations extend to working with Trinidad James, Eric Bellinger, and Rodney Jerkins, the iconic producer renowned for his work with Michael Jackson, Destiny’s Child, and Justin Bieber.
In May 2022, Graham participated in songwriting camps with Grammy-nominated songwriters V Script and LaFlare A1, further refining his skills. He has also partnered with Grammy-winning US platinum producers like Roark Bailey, showcasing his dedication to expanding his musical boundaries.
