“Bring The Vibe” is the new song from Cape Town singer / songwriter Anacy. It’s available on all streaming platforms. It’s her latest single and video. Also a community radio DJ, Anacy is no stranger when it comes to the limelight.
Anacy explains that “Bring the Vibe” was inspired by a break-up
“My friends knew I was feeling down, so they invited me to their studio to liven up my spirits. We started experimenting with dance beats/lyrics just for fun, not expecting to create anything serious. Before we knew it we had created something we felt would work for radio and streaming.”
What’s the song about?
“The initial inspiration was to create a song that gets people dancing, making them feel confident, embracing change and life’s challenges, and living in the moment. Life is precious and shouldn’t be taken for granted. I also wanted to showcase something different from my previous work – a slightly more up-tempo track.”
August is Women’s Month in SA. Anacy understands the challenges that come from being a woman in a male-dominated business.
Anacy explains
“As a female in the music industry, there are many expectations of looking and acting a certain way, and I just wanted to break down those barriers. I wanted to create an empowerment anthem to help liberate people and encourage them to live in the moment, embrace their uniqueness and follow their dreams. “The brave may die, but the cautious never live.”
“On a subtext level, the song is a comment on modern-day dating and how everyone expects you to quickly get over someone by going out to parties, drinking, drug’s and rebounds. How we hide behind facades and hide our authenticity to fit in society as we are too ashamed of our true selves. My music video showcases this concept.”
