Cape Town-based hip-hop duo, 3Face & Cee, return with their latest single, “Communicate This,” a track that champions the power of honesty and directness. Known for their energetic performances and unique fusion of funk, hip-hop, and rap, 3Face & Cee continue to innovate with this bold release.

“Communicate This” was inspired by the frustration of dealing with everyday insincerity. The single tackles this issue head-on, urging listeners to speak their minds openly and embrace an unfiltered style of communication.

As the duo explains, “We wanted to create a song that says, ‘If you’ve got something to say, say it to my face,’ even if it’s not all good. It’s a call for directness and owning your truth, no matter what.”

This single marks a departure from their previous releases, revealing a more intense and raw side of 3Face & Cee. While they’ve built a reputation with their upbeat, danceable tracks, “Communicate This” explores a more serious facet of their artistry. It retains their signature energy but delivers a sharper, more direct message. As the duo explains, “We wanted to show our fans that we don’t just make funky dance music; we can get people to mosh at a show too.”

The creation of “Communicate This” was swift, coming together in just one week. After a jam session with guitar and keyboard, they laid down the foundation, and the verses quickly followed.

A week later, they performed the track live in Johannesburg at the Hunters Jacquel House, where it received an overwhelmingly positive response from both the audience and industry icons like Musa Keys, Shekinah, and Tresor. Encouraged by this feedback, the duo decided to release the track without delay.

As 2024 unfolds, 3Face & Cee continue to evolve both musically and personally

Their confidence in blending genres and experimenting with their sound is evident in “Communicate This.” They’ve adopted a transparent and unfiltered approach, reflecting a deeper understanding of themselves as artists. This year also saw the launch of the Alien Gang community, a movement designed to spread high energy and empower those who feel alienated to embrace their true selves.

Looking ahead, fans can expect more music and live performances from 3Face & Cee. With six shows already under their belt this year and plans to play at all major festivals, the duo is gearing up to bring their unique vibe to audiences across South Africa.

“Communicate This” is just the start of an exciting year, as they continue to connect with fans and spread their message of authenticity and self-expression.
