The Oppikoppi Convoy from Pretoria to Northam will be bigger and better this year. Last year we had 25 cars in the convoy. Planning only started 2 months before the convoy, a learning curve for a better planned convoy for 2011.
We will meet each other at 8 AM on the 4th of August 2011 at LC De Villiers Sports Centre in Pretoria and depart at 9 AM. The convoy will be lead by a fully branded 22 seater bus (limited tickets have been sold out already). The bus will return from Oppikoppi on the 8th of August 2011. A Media crew will be on the convoy and full event to be documented from beginning until arrival at Oppikoppi.
The Oppikoppi Convoy website went live in July at http://www.oppikoppiconvoy.co.za – The Oppikoppi Convoy will have a real-time Facebook and Twitter feed. All necessary information is also on the website (as well as a mail list for updates. The following Twitter hashtags will be focused on #OppikoppiConvoy #Oppikoppi #UnknownBrother.
The main aim of the convoy is to get as many “Unknown Brothers” to travel together on their way to greatest party of the year – Oppikoppi. Of course it is more economical and we save our environment by travelling together.
